'Machete' wishes Arizona a happy Cinco de Mayo

Danny Trejo plays the lead role in the Robert Rodriguez movie "Machete."

Director Robert Rodriguez’s trailer for Machete, a REAL full-length movie, which first appeared as a fake trailer in Grindhouse, comes with a politically charged Cinco de Mayo message for Arizona, “they just ---- with the wrong Mexican.”

The B-movie has an all-star cast that includes Long Island’s own Lindsay Lohan, Robert DeNiro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, Don Johnson, and Danny Trejo, the tattooed Mexican, that has appeared in all Hollywood movies that needed a badass looking Mexican.

Trejo plays Federale Machete, a Mexican hitman who is set up, betrayed, and left for dead in Texas. The double-cross was a ploy to gain widespread public support for a Senator’s (DeNiro) harsh anti-immigration laws.

'Machete' is set to be released September 3. Take it for what it is, a purposely campy B-movie that pokes fun at one of the most hot button topics in American politics today – it’s meant for fun. Or as Alba’s character said, "We didn't cross the border, the border crossed us!”
