'Real Housewives of New Jersey' recap: One-liners, book deals and family feuds

It wouldn't be a "Real Housewives of New Jersey" recap without some Giudice-Gorga drama. We all expected that: yelling, swearing. You know, the usual.

However, the update on Melissa Gorga's latest project was somewhat unexpected. She put down the mic and opted for a new way to get her creative juices flowing. Her newest endeavor? Writing a how-to book on a successful marriage.

She is one of several housewives with a book deal, along with her rival sister-in-law Teresa Giudice and others like Caroline Manzo, Brandi Glanville, Kyle Richards, Jill Zarin, Countess LuAnn, etc. etc.

Once these women seem to have a good grasp on their time in the spotlight, they opt for book deals. Some look to music or acting, but the go-to career after reality show stardom seems to be writing. But why?

These women who weren't trained to be writers suddenly make a publishing career seem so accessible. Do they really have a unique story to tell and how much of that story are they telling themselves? What purpose do these works serve: entertainment and enjoyment or propaganda for the Bravolebrities?

As Gorga continues with this new project in the episodes to come, we can only hope that her grammar is a notch up from what we heard on Sunday. Let us revisit some Joe Gorga-Giudice one-liners.

Teresa: "He [Joe Gorga] acts like he doesn't know nothing about Twitter."

Joe: "Go cook a book."

Teresa: "I'm not one of Melissa's favorite persons."

Thank goodness for the editing process.
