Susan Lucci, Stacy Keibler gear up for New York Fashion Week, revealing the craziest items in their closets
Garden City native Susan Lucci may have donned glamorous gowns and dramatic jewelry on-screen during her four-decade run as Erica Kane on "All My Children," but behind the scenes, she relied on a much quirkier accessory to get through long days of shooting.
"I don't want to get rid of it; I've had it a long time," she told Newsday about the craziest item in her closet, during the NFL Women's Apparel's fashion presentation Tuesday at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. "It's a little yellow cropped jacket and it's a life vest -- it has lights and a whistle -- and when things got really long and crazy at work on 'All My Children,' I would put on my life vest."
Lucci and about a dozen more stylish celebrities -- including Stacy Keibler, Vivica Fox and Deborah Cox -- repped their favorite teams to present designer Phillip Bloch's latest NFL women's collection.
Keibler, once a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader and still a season-ticket holder, glammed up a shimmery Ravens top with skinny leather pants and a black blazer, while Lucci took the high-low mix to an extreme in a sequin Giants T-shirt paired with a glittery floor-length navy skirt.

It may not be her everyday look, but it's in line with one of the style tips the seasoned actress dished at the event: "Don't be afraid to try things. You'll know if it works, and if it doesn't at least you've tried."
A few things that always work?
"You have to have a little black dress, but have a little white dress too, and a little red dress," Lucci said.
While she'll spend of the next couple weeks in NYC finishing shooting her true crime show, "Deadly Affairs," which airs on ID, Lucci hopes to sneak in a few Fashion Week shows, with Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan at the top of her list.
Keibler said she's most looking forward to seeing what her favorite designers -- Monique Lhuillier, Zac Posen and Helmut Lang among them -- have planned for Spring 2014.
And as for the most surprising thing in her closet?
"My tutu from when I was in ballet school -- I still have it!"
