Longtime friends Sean Penn and Charlize Theron, rumored to be a couple since being seen vacationing in Hawaii together over New Year's, appeared to confirm a relationship during the weekend.
The Oscar-winning actors behaved affectionately at their table Saturday at Penn's Help Haiti Home fundraising gala at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills, E! News and others reported. Theron, 38, put her arm around Penn, 53, when he sat down with her, while Penn gave her kisses on the neck and they shared one on the lips, E! said. At the end of the evening, the couple held hands as they walked away together, People magazine added. Us Weekly described the two as cuddling and openly affectionate, with Penn draping his arm around her while U2's Bono and The Edge performed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."
In January 2010, Theron broke up with her partner of nearly a decade, Irish actor Stuart Townsend.
Penn was married to singer Madonna in the 1980s and to actress Robin Wright, with whom he has two children, from 1996 to 2010.
WRIGHT ENGAGED. Meanwhile, "House of Cards" cast member Wright has become engaged to actor Ben Foster. E! News said that Wright, 47, who reportedly has been in a relationship with her "Rampart" co-star Foster, 33, since at least February 2012, was wearing an engagement ring Friday night. Wright was married to actor Dane Witherspoon for two years in the 1980s, followed by her 13-year marriage to Penn. This would be Foster's first marriage.
