David Carradine's Long Island connection: Bellport

One of David Carradine's earliest show-biz gigs took place on Long Island. In the summer of 1963, he played Laertes opposite his father, John, in "Hamlet" at Bellport's Gateway Playhouse.

Ruth Allan, mother of current Gateway producer Paul Allan, recalls picking the actor up at the Patchogue train station.
