THE MUSICAL "After Midnight"

THE DEAL Hill, best known for playing presidential aide Charlie Young on "The West Wing," will join Fantasia Barrino in the forthcoming Broadway musical, "After Midnight," a revue celebrating Duke Ellington and Harlem's fashionable Cotton Club.

THE DEAL After an appearance together in concert at Town Hall a few weeks ago, Minnelli and Cumming are planning to bring their act to Broadway's Marquis Theatre for a handful of performances in December, reports Michael Musto in his new column at out.com. During his solo concerts, Cumming has often performed "Mein Herr," the song that Minnelli made famous in the film version of "Cabaret."

THE MUSICAL "Bombshell"

THE DEAL The songs of "Bombshell," the musical about Marilyn Monroe featured throughout the recently canceled TV series, "Smash," may live on. According to composer Marc Shaiman, who penned the songs with Scott Wittman, a "Bombshell" concert is being eyed as an upcoming charity event.

 

THE MUSICAL "Here Lies Love"

THE DEAL The Public Theater hopes to transfer its hit musical, "Here Lies Love" to another space, be it Broadway or Off-Broadway, that can handle its unique staging demands, reports The New York Times. The immersive musical about Imelda Marcos allows the audience to wander around a clublike atmosphere while the actors walk around shifting platforms. The production closed yesterday at the Public following an extended run.
