WHAT "Guys and Dolls"

THE DEAL Fox has secured the rights to do a film remake of "Guys and Dolls," considered by many to be the greatest musical comedy of all time. Deadline.com reports that Fox is hoping to star Channing Tatum (presumably as Sky Masterson) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (presumably as Nathan Detroit). Perhaps they'll be joined by Anne Hathaway as Sarah and Zooey Deschanel as Adelaide.

WHAT "Nice Work If You Can Get It"

THE DEAL The Gershwin musical, "Nice Work if You Can Get It," which has starred Matthew Broderick since it opened a year ago and now features the terrific Jessie Mueller in the role originated by Kelli O'Hara, will close on June 15 after 478 performances. A national tour is now being planned.

WHAT "Cabaret"

THE DEAL A few weeks ago, we acknowledged the rumor that Roundabout intends to bring back its hit revival of the musical "Cabaret" next season. On Wednesday, London's Daily Mail claimed that not only would the revival happen, it would co-star Anne Hathaway as Sally Bowles and Alan Cumming, who originated the role of the Emcee in the revival back in 1998. However, while it does appear that the revival is happening and probably with Cumming, Hathaway's publicist has informed media outlets that she is not involved.
