Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter dead at 78
Harold Pinter, whose use of silence was so inextricable from 20th century sensibilities that "Pinteresque" became an adjective for quiet menace, died Wednesday in London after a long struggle against esophageal cancer. He was 78.
