In an unusual bid to get people to notice new network Fusion -- which let's all admit is still not getting a whole heck of lot of attention at the moment -- "Good Morning America" will be simulcast in English and Spanish next Monday to tout the network's launch.
Fusion, in fact ,will be an English-language network aimed at English-speaking Latino Americans but...no matter. This is still unusual and a long ball to get some much needed media writer love. Univision’s "Despierta America" ("Wake Up America") will be carried by Cablevision; Fusion is a Univision/Disney joint venture. "Despierta" will "fuse" with "Good Morning America" ("Buenos días, América") by swapping anchors -- or at least Lara Spencer and Sam Champion -- with "Despierta's" morning team.
Fusion, described by ABC as "the news, pop culture and satire network from ABC and Univision," launches next Monday, at 6:57 ET. The network will be based in Miami.
