Season 12 of “American Idol” is set to begin in January 2013 and they’ve reprised the four-judge panel format.

Joining resident judge Randy Jackson -- yes, he's still a judge, despite rumors that hinted he wouldn’t be -- are the best-selling female recording artist of all time, Huntington native Mariah Carey, quadruple-platinum singer, songwriter, rapper and fashion icon Nicki Minaj and four-time Grammy Award winner Keith Urban.

Hopefuls met host Ryan Seacrest and the new four-person panel of judges Sept. 17, 2012, when the auditions began in Manhattan.

Other audition cities include Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, San Antonio, Baton Rouge and Oklahoma City.
