American Idol

Candice Glover won "American Idol" Season 12 over Kree Harrison as Psy, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Adam Lambert and Aretha Franklin performed.

Angie Miller turns in 'elegant number,' Kree Harrison does 'middle ground thing' on 'American Idol'

Kree Harrison doing "A Whiter Shade of Pale" next on "American Idol." She's bringing her all, and it's enjoyable. But like everyone else tonight I don't think she picked a great one-hit wonder to sing. There's only so much you can do with a song that isn't that memorable.

Randy Jackson says "you redeemed yourself," calls it "brilliant." Mariah Carey agrees. Keith Urban disagrees, didn't think she played to her strength of either intimate songs or rocker songs, avoid "the middle ground thing."

Nicki Minaj liked how Harrison "put . . . [her] heart and soul into it," but doesn't think that will keep her out of the bottom two.

Angie Miller closes out the night with "Cry Me A River." Away from the piano, doing what feels like a nightclub performance. She's as dramatic as always; voice soars effortlessly. But it somehow doesn't totally connect emotionally for me, I wanted to like it more than I did for some reason. Impressive but not amazing.

Carey calls it an "elegant number." Urban calls it "mystical and celestially powerful" — they're apparently running out of time. Minaj says, "tonight was your night." Jackson agrees, "Angie wins the night, hands down."
