On Wednesday night’s “American Idol,” the Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips performed three songs each, fighting for their spot in the final two.

Joshua Ledet, 20, was the first performer and he got all three judges up on their feet after his strong rendition of Etta James’ "I’d Rather be Blind."

His other songs, "Imagine" by John Lennon and "No More Drama" by Mary J. Blige, were big hits with the judges as well.

Though the evening seemed like it was Ledet’s, Phillip Phillips’ final performance gave Ledet a run for his money.

Phillips had a rocky night, beginning with a terrific performance of "Beggin’ " and then a subpar performance of "Disease" by Matchbox Twenty. Just when it looked like he was out of the game, Jimmy Iovine’s choice for him, Bob Seger’s "We’ve Got Tonight," got the judges standing again.

Jessica Sanchez, 16, was by no means lost in the Phillips and Ledet crowd. She made herself prominent by boldly performing Aerosmith’s "I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing." Steven Tyler gave her a standing ovation, though he was the only one of the judges to do so.

Her other songs, Mariah Carey’s "My All" and "I’ll be There" by the Jackson 5, were both powerful and memorable.

So who goes home? Well, Phillips was the only one to really slip up with his too slow Matchbox 20 choice, but his last number may have saved him.

Unfortunately, it may be Sanchez, as she was the only one who never got a standing ovation from all the judges. Where they just too lazy to stand for her? And will it make a difference? We will see Thursday.
