American Idol

Candice Glover won "American Idol" Season 12 over Kree Harrison as Psy, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Adam Lambert and Aretha Franklin performed.

Jessica Sanchez's 'And I'm Telling You' may be 'game over' for 'American Idol' competitors

Jessica Sanchez closes "American Idol" with Jennifer Holliday's "And I'm Telling You," as the finalists sing songs they wish they'd written. Mentor Jimmy Iovine tells her in rehearsals he's heard a lot of great things in his life, "and I'll remember this moment!"

Am so amped for this. He finishes, "if the judges and the audience see what I saw, it could be game over."

OK, so she's owning the stage; just her and the spotlight and her big vocals, soaring to the rafters. Putting her all into this, there's so much emotion in her voice. It's her best performance of the finals; and one of the most powerful things I've seen on the show, it just keeps going on when you think it can't get any better.

And that last note... oh my gosh. Judges stand.

"Just over the top," says Steven Tyler.

"This is crazy... I mean there's nothing to say... you just let out so much through your voice," says Jennifer Lopez, "it was a real moment."

Randy Jackson says "You got up there and slayed it, I don't know where you find the vocal chops, but you are phenomenal."
