American Idol

Candice Glover won "American Idol" Season 12 over Kree Harrison as Psy, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Adam Lambert and Aretha Franklin performed.

Quirky Kez Ban, young Briana Oakley, countrified Rachel Hale, Isabelle and Janelle Arthur, poppy Angela Miller, soulful Victoria Acosta advance on 'American Idol'

The women contestants are up as "American Idol" Hollywood Week chugs on. They're in lines of 10 and sing short solos; Mariah Pulice, who's battled anorexia, up first.

She's followed by Angela Miller, who has a pop look. Finally there's Victoria Acosta, who sings in mariachi bands but busts out with a soulful "Killing Me Softly." All three were good and deserve to move on; but the road ends for a tearful Pulice.

Rachel Hale next, Randy Jackson dubbed her "the happiest contestant we ever met." Powerful voice, huge vocal range on "Nothing But the Water." Followed by fellow country crooner Janelle Arthur, doing "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." Both are gonna be through easily, were fantastic. And they indeed are.

Candice Glover up first in the next group, her version of "Impossible" draws happy murmurs from the judges. Megan Miller, who auditioned on crutches, does "Titanium" -- good as well. Miller gets cut, but Glover soars on.

Isabelle leads the next line, does a -- rare! -- original version of "Summertime" and is through easily. Quirky but sincere Kez Ban next; they show her yelling in the audience for other contestants she's excited about. Has a cold, voice isn't in great form. Young Briana Oakley also in this group; does "Impossible" as well, shows off a wordly voice. "That's the girl I've been waiting to hear," says Mariah Carey.

Hope they're both through; and... they both move on.
