American Idol

Candice Glover won "American Idol" Season 12 over Kree Harrison as Psy, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Adam Lambert and Aretha Franklin performed.

Is Phillip Phillips the next American Idol?

It’s unanimous! Phillip Phillips will be the next “American Idol” if our psychics are correct.

All nine agree that Phillip easily snatched the crown from Jessica Sanchez last night, especially after getting a standing O from all three judges when he performed what would be his first single, “Home”—which came complete with a superfluous marching band backing Phillip during his performance.

As for Jessica, as Jennifer Lopez would say whenever she wants to cushion the bad news: “Oh, baby.” Jessica’s night started off with a technically fine if rather bland performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” the uninspired choice of producer Simon Fuller. She then had her best moment with a reprise of the Celine Dion-Andrea Bocelli power anthem “The Prayer,” but then went down in flames with her third song, something called “Change Nothing.” No doubt, if Jessica would change anything, it would be to never sing that song again.

With that said, here are this week’s predictions on who will win:

Phillip Phillips

Dave Lopez (15 points, 2-6)
