From the Four Tops to the bottom 3 will likely be the fate for Lazaro Arbos, Burnell Taylor and Devin Velez on tonight’s “American Idol” results show if our “Idol” psychics are correct.
The trio’s disastrous performance of the Tops’ “Can’t Help Myself” on last night’s Motown/Detroit-themed episode pleased no one, especially judge Nicki Minaj who wasn’t calling any of them “Sugar pie, honeybunch.”
“I...Read more »
The two American Idol divas, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, have verrrrry different styles, so it was odd to see them both wearing short dresses in the exact same shade of orangey-red on Wednesday night’s show.
Minaj donned a molded-to-her-body, short- sleeved sheath accessorized with a diamond tennis necklace. Carey went for a 50s style frock — a sleeveless shirtwaist with plunging neckline...Read more »
Janelle Arthur next on "American Idol," doing the Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin' On." Sitting on a stool with her guitar, slowing it way down and countrifying it. It's dramatic, but too heavy; beauty of the song was its almost flippant tone, it's all been sucked away. Creative and well-sung, but not enjoyable for me.
Mariah Carey yells out over the audience, "Janelle...Read more »
The "American Idol" top 8 finalists — Lazaro Arbos, Janelle Arthur, Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, Burnell Taylor and Devin Velez — will sing the songs of the Motor City next Wednesday, March 27.
"American Idol" will celebrate its 450th episode, and season 11 finalist Colton Dixon will perform on the results show on Thursday, March 28....Read more »
Paul Jolley and Devin Velez, as expected, are in the bottom three as "American Idol" cuts to eight finalists -- one more spot left to fill.
Lazaro Arbos is already safe; he was definitely the worst singer this round, by far; but he has a huge fan base and a compelling story, having overcome a chronic stutter.
Kree Harrison is revealed to be safe as well -- as is Candice Glover....Read more »
"American Idol" is cutting to its top eight tonight; up first is Amber Holcomb -- they have her sit right down without telling her anything, it's silly.
Guys then do a horrid version of The Beatles' "Got to Get You Into My Life" -- choreography is cheesy and old-fashioned, voices are drowned out by the instruments.
A delighted Paul Jolley is then informed his...Read more »
It could be a hard day’s night for Paul Jolley, Lazaro Arbos or Devin Velez on "American Idol" tonight. Each received at least two votes from our eight "Idol" psychics to be eliminated on tonight's results show.
Though Kree Harrison sang "With a Little Help From My Friends" on last night's Beatles-themed show, Paul Jolley seems the most likely to...Read more »
“I like the hair,” Keith Urban told “American Idol” contestant Angie Miller who had straightened her haystack mound of curls for Wednesday night’s homage to the Beatles. OK, a nice compliment, but Ryan Seacrest took it to another level when he said, “You’ve got a new friend . . . the flatiron.” Jeez, gents, there are things we ladies would rather not discuss on national TV, included in the mix:...Read more »
Angie Miller up next on "American Idol," singing "Yesterday." We could have a moment with this tonight . . . Starts off slow and stripped down, her voice soars. It's beautiful; yet not cheesy, there's an appropriate level of emotion and she's really feeling the song, reflects it with subtle changes in her voice. It's like a vocal master class; lots of color.
Randy Jackson...Read more »
Devin Velez, Janelle Arthur and Candice Glover are up first as "American Idol" is looking to cut someone tonight. Glover is into the top three, which means she's deservedly safe for tonight.
The show's officially crossed the line -- the finalists next sing a song from an upcoming animated film. It's not even a very good song; clips from the film play behind them as they...Read more »
