Entourage

Let's blog it out as Ari Gold, Johnny Drama and the crew from HBO's "Entourage" return for the eighth and final season. Victory!

Johnny Drama is getting old

Johnny Drama's anger and rage toward voicing the lead role of a gorilla in "Johnny Bananas," a hypothetical animated show on the HBO series "Entourage," is just his typical angst.

It's exactly the type of struggle we're used to seeing after seven seasons of the show.

But, this time, Drama's angst goes metaphorically deeper than ever before. He's not just being outrageous for the sake of being outrageous.

Drama's inner struggle is something we all deal with. It's about confronting our mortality, about coming to terms with getting older and no longer being able to do what we once were able to do.

Johnny Drama had the big hit series "Five Towns" recently, and way back, the show "Viking Quest" and a long string of guest spots and supporting roles.

Now, with the network not seeing Drama as a leading man in a series, Billy Walsh has created a cartoon series about an angry gorilla who is misunderstood by society. Drama, as he does so often and so well, goes ballistic about being just a voice and not a face.

And I have to wear a brace on each knee just to play in the company softball games.

And there are at least three drugs out there to help deal with erectile dysfunction.

And Rogaine is sold over the counter these days.

And too many dudes in their 50s drive Mustangs, Camaros and other sports cars.

Life is all about men coping with getting old. Some do it gracefully. Some do it like Johnny Drama.
