Westchester County native Ricki Lake had one of the most popular talk shows of the 1990s – remember how the audience would chant, “Go, Ricki!” during the opening and closing credits? After the show ended its 11-year run in 2004, Lake went on to a have an eclectic career, including producing the documentary “The Business of Being Born” in 2008 and earning second place on “Dancing with the Stars” last year.
Now Lake is back with a brand-new talk show premiering this fall.
“The Ricki Lake Show,” a nationally syndicated talk show, will begin airing Sept. 10. To entice viewers who were fans of Lake during her '90s heyday, a promo clip has been released online with the talk show host asking women what they want out of a gabfest. The clip concludes with Lake promising, “Whatever you want to talk about, the conversation begins here.”
One thing Lake will be talking about on her new show is her recent marriage. In May, the star announced her elopement to Christian Evans on Twitter with a photo of herself wearing a wedding dress. Lake told People magazine she'll discuss her personal life on the show, saying, “Now that I'm a mom with an 11- and 15-year-old and I've gone through a divorce and remarried in my 40s, I want to talk about what we're all going through and what we're trying to figure out.”
