The team is back together: Leah Remini has been named a series regular on “Kevin Can Wait,” rejoining co-star Kevin James on a CBS show for the first time in a decade.

The network said she’ll join the series in the fall. “Kevin” is filmed at Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage. It returns in September. Meanwhile, co-star Erinn Hayes said via Twitter that she had been dropped from the series for the second season.

Remini had a well-promoted guest shot with James on “Kevin” during the May (sweeps) two-part finale.

In that episode, “Sting of Queens,” she played an undercover police officer named Vanessa Cellucci. She’ll reprise “the tough, wisecracking officer” in the sophomore season, per CBS.

Remini and James co-starred in “The King of Queens” over nine seasons then went their separate ways in 2007 — James to the big screen and Remini to a succession of series (like “The Exes”) that went nowhere.

Her TV career, however, took an interesting turn last year when she became host and self-styled avenger/whistleblower on A&E’s “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” an expose of Scientology and its practices. (She is a former Scientologist.)

The show did well for A&E, a second season was ordered, and there is now a possibility that Remini will be on two series next fall — both about as far removed from one another as two TV series could be. A&E has not announced a start date.
