Mary  Hart, as much a part of our TV lives the past three decades as Vanna White, Alex Trebek or any character on "Sesame Street," will officially hang it up next  year.

Amazing. "ET" without Mary will be like sugar without the sweet, milk without the white, air without the O. I could go on. (But can "ET?")

She's a legend, a huge one.

Part of her statement: "There are many things I want to do in my life, and I'd better get on with them. It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say 'goodbye' at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration … 30 years of 'Entertainment Tonight', are you kidding me?  That's an accomplishment and something I'm very proud of!”
