Newsman Jake Tapper leaves ABC for CNN

CNN, which is about to be have a new boss (Jeff Zucker), has an important new employee, Jake Tapper, who will become anchor of a new daytime show and the network's chief Washington correspondent, Newsday's Verne Gay reports. Tapper has been ABC News' chief White House correspondent. He's also an author ("The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor," "Body Slam: The Jesse Ventura Story"). ABC yesterday named Jonathan Karl as its new top White House reporter.
