President Barack Obama will deliver the annual State of the Union Address Tuesday night at 9 before a joint session of Congress, U.S. Supreme Court justices, cabinet members and special invited guests. In some years this speech has vanished into the ether, while other years' orations have contained memorable phrases, like these five:

--"And while hoping and working for the best, we should prepare ourselves now for the worst." -- John Kennedy, Jan. 30, 1961
