'THE VOICE' OF BALDWIN.Melanie Martinez, 17, from the town that already boasts Dee Snider and Taylor Dayne, advanced to the semifinals of "The Voice" on Tuesday, making it into the show's final 40. Martinez -- who attended Baldwin High School before opting to be home-schooled for her current senior year -- already has seen her versions of Britney Spears' "Toxic" and Ellie Goulding's "Lights" crack the Top 10 on the iTunes alternative charts. Her "Voice" coach is Adam Levine.
FAKING 'AMISH.' TLC has announced it will air a two-part "Breaking Amish" reunion special Sunday Nov. 11 and 18, addressing rampant allegations that the five Amish and Mennonite cast-members had left their communities long before joining the show. NBC's Michelle Beadle hosts. Several websites and their communities' local TV-news outlets have reported on past marriages, divorces, arrests, children and other claims evidently documented by court records.
