Looking for family-friendly fun for the long weekend? Artistic kids can create with ceramics; teens and tweens can learn to cook; nature lovers can take a snowshoe trek or commune with wolves; and the whole family can take in a traveling circus. It’s all happening in the Hudson Valley, and we’ve got the details here.

Saturday-Monday: Royal Hanneford Circus in White Plains

Kids won’t soon forget the sight of an assortment of creatures ranging from fluffy to fierce -- dogs, bears, tigers and elephants -- performing eye-popping animal acts at the Royal Hanneford Circus. Two-legged performers will include a magician, trapeze artists, acrobats and motorcycle daredevils, as well as amusing antics by Grandma the Clown.

When: 10 a.m., 2 p.m and 6 p.m., Saturday-Monday, Feb. 16-18

Monday: Ceramic workshop for preschoolers in West Nyack

Give your little ones their first experience with ceramics in a class especially tailored to tots. In this 60-minute program, which includes instruction, kids age 3 and up can make cute projects in holiday themes such as Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Passover and Easter. They can paint and take home their masterpiece on the same day, or leave it in the shop for glazing and retrieve it later. Preregistration is suggested.

Monday: “Wrap and Roll!” youth cooking class in Bardonia

Aspiring chefs and hungry kids ages 12-16 can get creative in the kitchen as they layer healthy ingredients into fun and delicious lunch fare. In this hands-on cooking class, tweens and teens will learn to make both chicken and vegetarian wraps with wholesome fixings such as avocado, lettuce, carrots and sprouts. Pre-registration is required for the two-hour program.
