Bill Murray crashes kickball game; is Hudson Valley next?

Rockland County resident Bill Murray continued his unofficial, international tour of party crashing with a game of kickball Sunday afternoon in New York City. Could an unexpected Hudson Valley venue be next?

A group of kickball players was shocked when Murray bounded into the game and later posed for a photo, which shows him holding the red ball in stoic fashion.

One of the people who claimed to see Murray at the kickball game told Entertainment Weekly that the actor "popped out of nowhere" to join the game and give everyone "high-fives." He even went so far as to lift one of the kickballer's mothers after he posed with the group for the photo on Roosevelt Island. Coincidence or not, the name of that location lends itself well to viral marketing for his upcoming film, "Hyde Park on Hudson," in which he plays Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Which unexpected places in the Hudson Valley might Murray pop up next? Newsday Westchester has a few theories.

1. Singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at a minor-league baseball game: In addition to living in the same county as the Rockland Boulders, who play in Provident Bank Park in Pomona, he's a part owner of the Hudson Valley Renegades in Wappingers Falls. And in June, he was inducted into the Minor League Baseball Hall of Fame.

2. Dressing up in a costume at the Forest of Fear in Tuxedo Park: Murray seems like the kind of guy who'd wear some scary garb and shout "Boo!" at passers-by, only for visitors to scream, then laugh in hysterics. This place would be close enough for him to get in his scare tactics and then head home in short order.

3. Guest-bartending on the Newburgh waterfront: Before the weather gets too cold, Murray might serve drinks at one of many of the bars in Newburgh providing incredible views of the Hudson River. After all, he's already been a guest bartender at the South By Southwest festival. Maybe he'll show up at Shadows on the Hudson if the mood strikes him.

4. Doing an unannounced set at Levity Live: The West Nyack venue is not only a Rockland County favorite, but it's arguably the Hudson Valley's premier comedy club, regularly attracting top-notch talent, including Artie Lange, Charlie Murphy and Amy Schumer. Unannounced sets aren't typical there, but would you stop Murray from doing an improvised hour? We thought not.

5. Playing miniature golf at Rye Playland: A golf fanatic, Murray might channel his character from "Caddyshack" and putt some brightly colored balls near the boardwalk of the amusement park. And he probably wouldn't have to deal with any pesky gophers if he did.
