Carly Rose Sonenclar mentor Britney Spears may get axed from 'X Factor'
Carly Rose Sonenclar earned second place on “The X Factor” this season, and while the 13-year-old from Mamaroneck will surely go on to have a successful entertainment career, her mentor Britney Spears’ future on the show is in doubt.
According to Us Weekly, Britney Spears and fellow judge Demi Lovato, both of whom joined the show in its second season, will be axed from the show.
"Britney will get the boot," an insider told the magazine. "Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working."

"They paid all that for her to say 'amazing' and offer half-claps," a second source told Us Weekly.
A third insider added that “The X Factor” co-creator Simon Cowell “wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.”
Spears reportedly earned $15 million to join the judges’ panel in the second season of “The X Factor," which also included Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. The show has experienced a revolving door when it comes to the judging panel: Reid announced he was departing the show earlier this month, and original judges Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole were either fired or not asked to return after the show’s first season.
Despite her often lackluster judges’ comments and her odd facial expressions, as Carly Rose’s mentor, Spears steered her young protege to take on pop songs by artists ranging from Adele to Beyonce to Justin Bieber, which led to some of the singer’s most memorable performances of the competition.
Carly Rose herself seemed pleased to have the pop star as her mentor. On the night “The X Factor” aired its season finale on Dec. 20, the Mamaroneck teen tweeted “I love you @britneyspears! Thank you for everything!!!”
A Fox spokeswoman said the network would have no statement. A spokeswoman for "The X Factor" said in a statement to Newsday, "No one has discussed next year's judging panel yet -- any reports otherwise are complete speculation."
