Forbes' highest-paid TV actresses list includes local stars
Forbes Magazine released its list of TV’s highest-paid actresses of 2012 earlier today, and two stars with Hudson Valley connections made the cut.
Bedford native Felicity Huffman ranks eighth on the list, due to a “Desperate Housewives” salary that netted her an estimated $8 million per year. Her “Got Milk” ad campaign and Dole spokeswoman duties brought her total earnings to $9 million. Hoffman is also the richest “housewife,” out-earning co-stars Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross (both ranked No. 11).
Julianna Margulies tied with Melissa McCarthy and Kyra Sedgwick for the 17th spot on Forbes’ list. According to the magazine, the Spring Valley native rakes in $4 million for her lead role on “The Good Wife,” and her role as L’Oreal spokeswoman brings her total salary to $6 million.
Huffman and Margulies’ good fortune could get another boost when Emmy nods are announced Thursday morning, with both actresses eligible to be nominated. Another likely nominee, “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara, edged out Kim Kardashian for the distinction as television’s highest-paid female star.
