George Lopez, Trey Anastasio Capitol Theatre shows postponed

Info: The actor and former TV host, who has new comedy album called "George Lopez: It's Not Me, It's You," will bring his sharp-witted act to The Cap this winter.

Fans of stand-up comedian George Lopez and jam-band icon Trey Anastasio will have to wait a little longer to see them at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, as their shows are the latest in the Hudson Valley to be postponed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

On Nov. 2, Lopez was slated to be the first stand-up comedian to headline at the The Cap, which had been exclusively a concert venue since it reopened Sept. 4. And Anastasio, a long-time Rockland County resident, watched his most recent show get postponed for a second time: The show that was slated for Oct. 28 was bumped to Nov. 5 because of the approaching storm, and is now being held indefinitely in the aftermath.

The two events are just the latest to be postponed in the wake of Sandy. Hudson Valley shows featuring Kevin Nealon, Ingrid Michaelson and others will have to wait until a date to be determined.

Here's the full statement about the postponements at The Cap, as posted on its website:

"Due to the ongoing situation surrounding the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy (flooding, power outages, travel issues, etc.) we are forced to postpone two upcoming shows at The Capitol Theatre. The George Lopez show, scheduled for Friday, November 2, and the Trey Anastasio Band concert, scheduled for Monday, November 5, have been postponed until some time in the near future.

"We hope to reschedule the dates in the coming days and will communicate those, as well as refund and new on-sale information, to you as soon as possible. We are disappointed by these postponements but, under the circumstances, all involved felt it was the best course of action. Please stay tuned to our website and social media outlets for details.
