It's time once again to count down the bold and the beautiful tweets by celebrities with Hudson Valley connections.

Earlier in the week, Newsday Westchester examined Hudson Valley celebrities' tweets about Hurricane Sandy, so, in a small effort to provide temporary relief from storm drama, we'll keep these picks mostly Sandy-free.

At No. 5 is Howard Stern, who kicked off his professional radio career in Briarcliff Manor. Proving yet again why he's the self-proclaimed King of All Media, Stern came through on his vow to host his radio show, no matter what is going on in the world.

Stern tweet

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night seems to stop Stern from delivering with reliability that rivals the U.S. Postal Service. In addition to reporting for on-air duty for his Monday-through-Wednesday work week, Stern also sojourned to Brooklyn to be his good friend's guest on the Tuesday night broadcast of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

At No. 4 is one of Stern's favorite contestants from "America's Got Talent," Stony Point resident Tom Cotter, who's performing in Las Vegas through Nov. 17. Cotter was supposed to be a guest on Stern's show Monday morning but couldn't fly back to New York due to Sandy. Later in the week, he decided to welcome himself to a different jungle.

Cotter tweet

Funny, I never pegged Cotter as a Guns 'n' Roses fan. I'm not sure if he can do Axl Rose's famous "snake dance," but Cotter has been known to do that thing where he lifts his shirt and makes his stomach undulate, so there's that.

At No. 3 is Hyde Park resident Deuce, a DJ for WRRV in Poughkeepsie. He thinks your rendition of a Beatles/Joe Cocker classic needs some work, but he might opt to keep it to himself.

Deuce tweet

Like every DJ, I'm sure there are many off-key pop stars he'd like to rip into on the air, but taking this same approach at work probably allows him to keep his job. Employment: It's important!

This week's runner-up for Hudson Valley Tweet of the Week comes from  Al Roker, a former Yorktown resident who might have let his pocket do the tweeting Wednesday night.

Roker tweet

Most likely, Roker didn't mean to tweet this, but maybe "Inmup#ib#" is short for "I need my ukeleles playing numbers. I boogie. Numbers!" Let's just all agree that it's definitely short for that.

This week's top tweet is from Armonk resident Ron Howard, who gives us a glimpse into his slightly askew Halloween costume.

Ron Howard tweet

As a movie fan, I'm glad Howard cares about the details. After all, it's one of the many reasons he's such a compelling film director, and an Academy Award-winning one at that.
