Kardashians versus the Kennedys: Kerry Kennedy laughs at the comparison
Kerry Kennedy is decidedly not “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
On Wednesday, the Bedford resident was asked by TMZ how the reality TV brood could create a family legacy similar to her politically-minded family.
“Are you comparing the Kennedys to the Kardashians?” she responded, laughing. She added that the Kennedys aren’t “worried about branding -- they just want to ‘serve’ the American people.”
Kerry Kennedy is the daughter of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and the niece of the late Pres. John F. Kennedy. Her brother is lawyer-activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has called Bedford home.
While it’s totally understandable that Kennedy would blanch at the suggestion that her family has anything in common with the Kardashians, it’s not a completely wild comparison. After, all, both are multi-generational clans whose members often make headlines for their professional and personal lives, and, of course, both family surnames start with the letter K.
The Kardashians even have Westchester ties -- family patriarch Bruce Jenner is a Mount Kisco native who was raised in Tarrytown and briefly played football for Sleepy Hollow High School.
But unless Kim Kardashian decides to run for office, or brother Rob Kardashian trades in his sock line to become a human rights activist, the Kennedys have no reason to worry about having their family legacy surpassed by the Kardashians.
Do you think the Kennedys and Kardashians are similar? And who’s your favorite famous family? Take our poll or let us know in the comments!
