Kevin Bacon’s upcoming TV show, “The Following,” is once again filming in Westchester, this time in Mount Pleasant. According to the town's village clerk, filming took place on Tuesday at Rockefeller Park and on Route 117, with the eastbound lane of 117 closed until approximately 2 p.m.
The Fox drama, scheduled to premiere in January, is about a former FBI profiler (Bacon) tracking down a serial killer. Since helicopters are a part of today's shoot, the scene likely involves a car chase.
This isn’t the first time Hollywood cameras have converged on Route 117. The 2001 comedy “Super Troopers” also shot scenes on the Westchester state highway, as did the Coen brothers’ latest movie, “Inside Llewyn Davis,” which is scheduled to come out in 2013.

“The Following” first filmed scenes locally in August, when they shot at three locations in Bronxville. With Bacon’s show filming here so frequently, we’re almost ready to dub him an honorary Hudson Valley celebrity.
