Rooney Mara on Vogue's Best Dressed 2012 list

Vogue magazine revealed its 10 Best Dressed Women of 2012 list today, and a Hudson Valley celebrity, Bedford native Rooney Mara (who graduated from Fox Lane High School), made the cut.

Vogue ranked Mara second on the list for wearing a Givenchy Haute Couture gown by Riccardo Tisci to the London premiere of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” on Dec. 12, 2011. The white gown, both lacy and delicate, stands out in sharp contrast to Mara's edgy hairstyle. (She wore a similarly pale dress to the 2012 Oscars, pictured above.)

Mara is also popular with Vogue’s readers, receiving the most online votes for best dressed as well.

Other stars on the list with ties to the Hudson Valley include singer Solange Knowles, whose sister Beyonce owns a home in Scarsdale, and singer-songwriter Sophie Auster, a 2010 graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, who earned the distinction of being named one of Vogue’s “new wave of style stars.” 

Vogue’s Best Dressed of 2012 issue is out on newsstands nationwide Nov. 20.
