Mark Zuckerberg’s bride Priscilla Chan goes traditional
If you expected Priscilla Chan, 27, bride of billionaire Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, 28, to turn up at her May 19th wedding in a hoodie, the favored gear of her longtime beau, you were way off.
The bride donned a $4,700 gown by Claire Pettibone for the small, private ceremony in the couple’s back yard in Palo Alto, CA. The traditional and very romantic confection was adorned with matte sequins and lined in silk. It featured a sheer jewel neckline and dramatic, lacy back with a chapel train.
The wedding occurred a day after Zuckerberg’s historic Facebook stock offering and several days after Chan graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.
According to reports, fewer than 100 guests gathered for the nuptials, and Zuckerberg gave his new bride a ruby ring that he designed.
The couple met while attending Harvard, almost a decade ago. Designer Pettibone, who has been in business since 1994, specializes in clothing that combines both a vintage flair and modern styling.
As for Zuckerberg, he too eschewed his signature hoodie, and instead opted for a dark suit. A loosened tie seemed to be his rebel's nod to informality.
