'Survivor' returning for 28th season, plus more reality TV news

'SURVIVOR' SURVIVING. The upcoming 28th edition of "Survivor" will be "Survivor: Cagayan -- Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty," CBS announced. The Philippine province of Cagayan is in northeast Luzon island. That same province's Palaui Island was the site of the recently concluded "Survivor: Blood vs. Water," won by Tyson Apostol.

CASTING. If your kid likes cooking more than cookies, start prepping for the New York auditions for Fox's "MasterChef Junior" season two, scheduled for Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., location to be announced. For updates, go to MasterChefJuniorCasting.com.

Doron Ofir Casting, best known for "Jersey Shore," is looking for daughters who want to find their long-lost fathers for a new series, produced by Asylum Entertainment ("Beverly Hills Pawn," "Being Mike Tyson"). And Diane von Furstenberg is using a reality show to pick a brand ambassador for her fashion house. "Smart and driven fashionistas who appear to be 20 to 25" years old can send their bio, why they'd like the position, three recent photos and contact information to SLFashionSeries@gmail.com. According to Fashionista.com, the show, produced by Electus ("Fashion Star," "Mob Wives"), will shoot for six to eight weeks this spring.

PREMIERES. It's Christmastime on "Wild West Alaska," with a holiday episode Thursday at 9 p.m. on Animal Planet . . . Opposite it on E!, cameras follow personal shoppers seeking rare items such as golden caviar in the special "Buying for Billionaires" . . . Friday at 10 p.m. on OWN, the viral hit "Golden Sisters" give their views on 2013's top pop-culture moments, with host Tom Bergeron . . . Saturday starting at 8:30 p.m., that same network burns off three episodes of the sextuplets series "6 Little McGhees," which last aired in October . . . and Sunday night at 9 on TLC, Kody Brown and his polygamous "Sister Wives" return for the second half of season four.
