Theater District restaurants have their work cut out for them. Not only do they need to provide good food at a good price, they have to be able to deliver it in time for you to get to the theater before the curtain rises. While it’s true that many restaurants in the neighborhood—whose boundaries we have defined as 41st and 53rd streets, Ninth and Seventh avenues—fall short on one or more of those criteria, there are dozens of places where you can enjoy a genuinely good meal. The restaurants listed here range from inexpensive burger joints to ethnic eateries to established bistros. What they all have in common is that they offer value for the money.
