Official word finally on a report that appeared yesterday on Deadline.com: "The Sarah Silverman Program"  has been done in by Comedy Central. There will be no fourth season. It's gone. That's it.

Surprising? Hardly....except that it was much praised by critics (myself included) and seemed to have that requisite buzz, whatever "requisite buzz" is. Fact is, hard to say how widespread viewer support really was, and whether those offering critical plaudits paid much attention after the first couple of episodes (speaking again for myself.) CC hd cut it's budget and Silverman had nearly walked before the third.

This was a highly highly odd show - filtered through Silverman's own unique sensibilities which could be (one imagines) reduced to one word..."doody." Case in point: The following clip. But she is funny and talented; she'll be just fine.
