Clover Canyon goes to Russia, with style

The folks at Clover Canyon may design, cut and sew their clothes in sunny California, but the new brand has Russia on the brain for fall.
Called “Winter Palace,” the line takes inspiration from the land of Baryshnikov and Tolstoy, using prints derived from photos of everything from grand architecture to dramatic vistas, from the Siberian plains to the stage of the Ballets Russes. The ornate interior of the Royal Palace, the Crystal Palace, plus shots of chandeliers, accordions, bone china and enamel eggs all find their way into patterns on dresses, tops, pants and coats.
Angora knits shimmer with paillettes, and a decorative filigree design curlicues its way around pants and dresses that look like wool but on closer inspection are actually neoprene.

These are clothes with a very specific customer in mind -- a lover of prints, certainly. A little wanderlust in your soul wouldn’t hurt either.
