As Lifetime's "Devious Maids" returns for its third season (June 1 at 9 p.m.), let's salute five other TV housekeepers who may not have been devious, but certainly were memorable:

Hazel (Shirley Booth, "Hazel") Based on a Saturday Evening Post comic strip, this maid seemed to be a lot smarter than her employer, "Mr. B" (Don DeFore).

Florence Johnston (Marla Gibbs, "The Jeffersons") Possessor of a very sharp tongue, she knew how to put her boss, irascible George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley), in his place.

Florida Evans (Esther Rolle, "Maude") So good as the housekeeper to Maude (Bea Arthur) and Walter Findlay (Bill Macy) in Westchester, she was rewarded with her own Chicago-based spinoff, "Good Times."

Alice Nelson (Ann B. Davis, "The Brady Bunch") Efficient but extremely daffy maid whose greatest desire in life was to get a ring from boyfriend Sam the Butcher (Allan Melvin).

Rosie (voiced by Jean Vander Pyl, "The Jetsons") Well, we're now living in the 21st century just like the Jetson family, so how come talking robot maids haven't become a reality yet? (And Roombas don't count!)
