Tim Urban somehow topped "American Idol" on the night Adam Lambert mentored and the mostly-mediocore finalists sang Elvis, reminding us all how poorly this year compares to last and making me glad two contestants will be booted off Wednesday.

Nobody but the tween girls have liked Tim all season, and he's gotten raked over the coals for his poor song choices and undernourished voice.

But who knows, maybe the girls were on to something -- he was soulful, sincere and fun to listen to with "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You," even though he didn't finish with the falsetto Adam suggested (he totally should have).

Adam was great as a mentor -- he gave the exact same advice to the contestants that we've all been screaming at the TV, namely: Go crazy! Take risks! Leave it all out there! Show us how much you want this!

Unfortunately, most of them didn't. Here's how I rated everyone. Put in your rankings in the comments, below:

1) Tim Urban's "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" was "pretty" as Adam said, and also showed he's got some real talent.

2) Michael Lynche's "In the Ghetto" was an easy listen. He was passionate and strong vocally but somehow missed having a great moment.

3) Siobhan Magnus was a bit all over the place with "Suspicious Minds," but she's always interesting and definitely has the voice. She just needs some focus.

4) Aaron Kelly impressed Kara with his "growl" on "Blue Suede Shoes." Like her I liked how he went for it and thought he was half-believable.

5) Lee Dewyze's "A Little Less Conversation" had a great tone and was a strong vocal, but I didn't think he performed it much.

6) Andrew Garcia's "Hound Dog" got panned by most of the judges, but I liked how he shaped it. I found it interesting.

7) Katie Stevens was all attitude on "Baby, What Do You Want Me To Do," she's strong vocally but for whatever reason I thought it was just OK.

8) Crystal Bowersox's "Saved" was her usual good, solid performance, as Kara said -- which is the problem for me. She's too talented to be "solid" week after week.

9) Casey James oddly picked "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" and was his usual confident self but nothing much more.
