Fox won't air the Prez
Interesting development, and in the dead of night, so to speak - just as the world has headed out for the holiday.
Fox won't air the prez next Wednesday. The statement just came out. . .
This means -- of course -- that the highly lucrative and anticipated new season launches of "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Glee" will not be disrupted.
And if the other networks air the address to the joint session of Congress, then the ratings for both might even do better than expected.
Clever like a Fox. . .
Fox, BTW, has done this before -- this past April, when it ditched a prez primetime photo-op. The White House, I suspect, was not pleased. Here's the statement:
“The Fox Broadcasting Company will not air the Presidential Address to Congress on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. FOX’s sister networks, Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network will air the presidential address in its entirety. FOX will alert viewers with an on-screen graphic at the top of the 8 p.m. hour that the presidential address is available on Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network.”
