FX orders drama from 'Homeland' showrunners

In a sign that they are Hot — Very Hot — FX has ordered a pilot from Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff, co-producers of "Homeland" who — along with Alex Gansa — walked away with a Best Drama Emmy this  year. The title of the series-in-waiting is "Tyrant" and there is no ETA for the pilot about "the story of an unassuming American family drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation." But this is certainly going to be a topic of conversation at the forthcoming TV critics' press tour, and a fall arrival date would seem a reasonable one for a series, assuming the pilot goes to series (which is a very good assumption). The very busy Craig Wright — who's had a play on Broadway ("Grace") and an MTV series ("Underemployed") — is also attached.
