"GMA:" Why not Katie?

You know that someone, somewhere, inside the Magic Kingdom asked that question this morning. They asked this question because, after all, there's no harm in asking. And they asked because it is kind of a logical question. Kind of...
So why not Katie Couric to replace Diane Sawyer at "Good Morning America?"
Now, for your benefit - ten reasons why this is a brilliant idea.
Followed by ten explaining why it's the dumdest idea since "Teen Wolf, Too:"
1.) She's Katie!
2.) Great broadcaster.
3.) Knows the format better n' you know your kids/wife/husband...
4.) Knows how to set her alarm.
5.) Probably sick of not getting the support at CBS that she thinks she richly deserves.
6.) And like all of us, thinks the grass is greener, ummm, on the other side of the street - which in this case is just down the street at Times Square.
7.) Gets chance to upstage Diane once and for all, by bringing viewers to the show, and actually making it a success, or at least not an also-ran.
8.) Gets chance to beat "Today," just for the heck of it.
9.) Gets chance to wreak havoc on Matt, and really make his life miserable.
10.) Gets a lot more money, or as Katie likes to say, "jack." (And she is the only person alive who has ever referred to "money" as "jack.")
Now, why this is the dumbest question ever asked, and why the person who asked it - you know who you are, Mr. Bob Iger - should feel silly.
1.) Because she'd make everyone miserable at "GMA," especially Sam - who likes to be happy.
2.) Because she knows what happened to Bryant Gumbel when he went back to the mornings.
3.) Because she's thrilled that Diane's gonna take over "World News" and she's gonna get a chance to whoop her all over again.
4,) Because she threw her alarm clock out.
5.) Because there isn't in fact enough jack in the world.
6.) Because - Good Lord - what would happen if she went to "GMA" and ratings sank even LOWER.
7.) Because it would be going backwards.
8.) Because she's so over making Matt's life miserable.
9.) Because she's got two years left in her contract.
10.) Because she'd be taking over from DIANE and she just couldn't handle the humiliation...
(In my humble opinion, the ten "Why Nots" out-weigh the ten "whys.")
