Jimmy Fallon to present Justin Timberlake with award at VMAs
Jimmy Fallon will present Justin Timberlake with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs Sunday night. The logic of this needs no explanation -- Timberlake hasn't just become one of late night TV's most relaibly entertaining guests, but co-creator and presenter of "Late Night's" (arguably) most successful ongoing "element" (for want of a better word) during the Fallon years "The History of Rap."
It's a very big award for the VMAs -- in fact, the biggest award given out by a network that no longer even airs videos -- as explained in this excerpt from the press release:
Timberlake has been the architect behind some of the most innovative and popular music videos of the last two decades including the emotionally drenched “Cry Me a River,” futuristic dance party, “Rock Your Body,” the dark and sultry, “SexyBack,” the exquisite black and white rat pack throwback “Suit & Tie,” as well as the hauntingly beautiful “Mirrors.” In honor of his artistry and innovation, Justin Timberlake will be presented the coveted “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” joining a prestigious list of past recipients including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Britney Spears.
Timberlake has already won a couple dozen VMAs.
Will there be yet another Kanye West moment at the 2013 VMAs?
