Justin Timberlake joins 'Fallon' for a week in March
Justin Timberlake, who's pretty much cemented a role as Jimmy Fallon's best — or at least hardest working — guest, will join the show for an entire week next month; yup, unusual to say the least. Timberlake announced this morning on his website, also saying a 5th outing as "SNL" host will fall the same week. And the announcement:
Justin is confirmed to host and be musical guest on March 9th on SNL. It will be his 5th turn hosting. Then he will do a week of appearances on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” from March 11—15 (12:35 a.m. ET on NBC) where he will perform each night and Chat with Fallon. This is all to celebrate the launch of his third solo album, “The 20/20 Experience.” Timberlake is scheduled to perform each night and will sit down to chat with Fallon on Monday and Friday. His visit will mark the first time any featured artist has appeared in every show during a single week.
As "Fallon" fans know well, Timberlake's "History of Rap" series on "Late Night" haven't only been informative but highly entertaining. Check it out below.
Meanwhile, when thinking of the Oscars this weekend, think of Jimmy and what-mighta-been: Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the co-producers of the Really Big Show, wanted him as their host, but ABC threw up a wall. Too bad — he'd be an excellent Oscars guide. Maybe one day, when network territorial issues magically melt away. Could happen; after all, Johnny Carson hosted during the ABC years (though Bob Hope, with long deep ties to NBC, hosted during the years NBC carried the Oscars.)
And — wow — have I gotten off topic in this post. Back to Justin and Fallon and the History of Rap.
