Old home week: 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Big Bang,' 'Gifted Man'
Sometimes the stars -- the TV stars -- align just right, and you get a profusion of unexpected cameos from major TV stars of yore. I speak here of Lee Majors, Laurie Metcalf and Eriq La Salle. All three were or will be on network series.
The "six million dollar man," who incidentally launched "The 6 Million Dollar Man" 37 years ago, did a cameo last night on "Grey's Anatomy." Go here for a look, and scroll nineteen minutes and thirty seconds in...and no, sorry, do not have a clip. Majors, or I suppose we could still call him Steve Austin, has made something of a living doing these kinds of one-shots -- "Weeds," "According to Jim," and even "Will & Grace" in recent years. His last major, pun intended, series was "The Fall Guy" back in the mid-80s.
And...Laurie Metcalf, Sheldon's mom, was back again last night ... and ... Eriq La Salle ("ER," of course) is on "A Gifted Man" tonight; he's been busy as a director, and I think recently helmed a "Ringer." This marks the beginning of a multi-episode arc; he'll play a neuropsychiatrist who helps Patrick Wilson's character through a rough patch...
To the clips!
