'Parks and Recreation' goes on the shelf for nearly a month

Yes, it's been a rough few weeks for "Parks and Recreation," NBC's last holdover from the golden days of comedy on the network.

As pointed out by some media observers, Disney Channel's "Dog with a Blog" got more viewers (3.5 million) than the Kristen Bell-starring Oct. 3 episode of "P&R" (3.1 million.)

Now this: NBC has put the series on the shelf for the November sweeps, elbowed aside for the battle rounds of  "The Voice."  A surprise perhaps because, which first reported the story, pointed out that a Halloween-themed episode was also put on ice.

Because it's unlikely a Hallow episode will air (say) at Christmas, this could mean NBC will eat the entire episode -- amazing if true.
