Paula back on 'Drop Dead Diva'
Oh, this one's too deliciously ironic for words.
Just let it flow over you - savor the joy, the oddness, the pure Paula-esque wackiness of it:
P's back on "Drop Dead Diva."
While the world was buzzing merrily away about P - not tweeting, mind you, as the entire twitterverse crashed today, which meant everyone had to go back to old-fashioned "buzz" - P was in Georgia filming "DDD."
Wonderful!
Paula's got a new job already! On "Drop Dead Diva," about - you know - a dead diva (who comes back.)
Will this pay $7 million a year? Her agent will get back to her on that.
Per the Lifetime press release, "in an elaborate dream sequence, the beautiful and bedazzled judge Abdul once again represents Jane's subconscious, this time involved a matter of Jane's heart." Yeah, she was on last seaon - remember. The episodes will air Sept. 13 and Oct. 11.
Here's show-runner Josh Berman, from the press release: "The cast and crew absolutely loved Paula when she filmed her first ep [last year]....I asked her if she'd like to return and she said 'yes! I've just been dumped by 'American Idol' and I need a job pronto, Berman, and I need about $3.5 million per episode.' I told her, 'I'm thrilled to have you Paula, but I'll have to get back to you on the salary. ' She said, 'no worries! Can you pay for the plane ticket?''"
Very Important note to reader: I almost totally made up the entire quote from Josh, and I apologize for that, but I just couldn't help myself. The rest of this post is reasonably accurate.
