Robert 'Bobby' Hegyes of 'Welcome Back, Kotter' has died
Robert “Bobby” Hegyes -- Epstein of “Welcome Back, Kotter" -- has died. First report of his death broke in the Newark Star-Ledger a little while ago. Per ABC News, citing the report:
Police responded to a call for assistance at his home in Metuchen, N.J., and “They found Hegyes suffering from chest pains; he was taken to a hospital in Edison, N. J., but by the time he reached the emergency room, he went into full cardiac arrest and died, a hospital spokesman told the paper.”
The show aired on ABC from 1975 to '79, and was beloved; of course, it launched one very famous career -- John Travolta's.
