'Rules of Engagement" comes in from the cold

"Rules of Engagement," CBS' cat with ten lives, just landed on the mid-season schedule, the network has announced. The shortened 13-episode season begins Feb. 4 at 8:30 -- the sandwich meat between "Two Broke Girls" and "How I Met Your Mother." "Engagement" was always expected back, but "where" remained something of a mystery, as it always has been with this series, which launched -- how time flies -- way back in 2007 (the night after the Super Bowl.) CBS has always been a bit ambivalent about this series -- which can be quite amusing -- as have audiences. That may explain its peripatetic history, hitting more time slots that a ball in a pinball machine.
