Schuler "L&O" episode this Friday
Yes, this one was - reportedly - ripped from a unbelieveably tragic headline in late July, when Diane Schuler drove a minivan down the wrong way on the Taconic.
Entitled "Doped," it airs this Friday at 9 and while the logline doesn't suggest an immediate parallel - a "suspicious nose spray" was found in the driver's car while her boss is implicated in some way - the conclusion would appear inescapable, that this one's "ripped" from one of the most shocking news stories of the year.
The New York Post broke it a couple weeks ago, when a reporter came upon a crew shooting the crash scene on the Henry Hudson... Members of the Bastardi family (Guy Bastardi and his father, Michael, were two of three victims in the other car) expressed outrage to the Post over the show.
"L&O," as it has done for twenty years of episodes, insisted that "Doped" is a fictitious account.
More details to come.
